Notre Dame offensive line coach Jeff Quinn has been setting his 2022 recruiting board over the last few weeks and he dished out a big offer this week.

2022 Deer Creek (Okla.) offensive lineman Jacob Sexton‍ is one of the top offensive linemen in the country and Quinn delivered the good news on Tuesday.

"They had texted my head coach and he sent me Coach Quinn's contact number," Sexton told Irish Sports Daily. "I called Coach Quinn and we talked for a little while. He said he was watching my film and liked the way I played. He liked how even if I knocked someone down, I still got up and looked for more work. He was excited."

Quinn might have been excited to offer the 6-foot-5, 285-pounder, but Sexton was equally excited to get the offer.

"I think it's awesome," said Sexton. "It's really cool and iconic that Notre Dame gave me an offer.

"He sounded like a really nice guy. He's definitely a great guy to get to know."

The Oklahoma native is familiar with Notre Dame as he made the trip to South Bend in the fall to see the Irish play Boston College.

"I remember the indoor facility was really cool," stated Sexton. "The facilities were really nice. The people there were great, too."

Sexton's recruitment is just getting started, but he owns an impressive offer list as Alabama, Arizona State, Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Iowa State, Kansas, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M and Virginia Tech have already offered.

He'll be the first to admit he has to pinch himself sometimes.

"I think it's really cool those schools think so highly of me," explained Sexton. "I appreciate the offers from all of them and look forward to speaking to them."

Sexton has taken the attention in stride as it's something he's worked for and the plan is to continue to enjoy the process.

"I was kind of ready for the recruiting process to start, but at the same time, I wasn't really sure when it would start," Sexton stated. "It's been a lot of fun so far."

Sexton remains very open to schools recruiting him and already knows a few key factors that will help him decide on a school.

"Academics would be one factor and then how well I get to know the coaches before it's time to make that decision is another really big one," said Sexton. "I want to get to know them and talk to them at least every two weeks. I want to keep up with them."
