Video | Ian Book and Notre Dame Offense Working on July 4th

It might be July 4th, but Notre Dame's offense was working inside the Irish Athletics Center on Saturday.

Quarterback Ian Book led a quick throwing session with Kevin Austin Jr., Avery Davis, Ben Skowronek, Brock Wright, Jafar Armstrong and Jahmir Smith.

It's nothing groundbreaking, but it's a quick football fix for Notre Dame fans along with a deep shot from Book to Austin.

Book threw for 3,034 yards and 34 touchdowns last fall, but the Irish lost veteran receivers Chase Claypool and Chris Finke, while tight end Cole Kmet declared for the NFL Draft a year early.

Austin will look to assume the role of the No. 1 receiver in 2020 after sitting out last season due to a suspension. Braden Lenzy, Lawrence Keys III, Javon McKinley, Joe Wilkins Jr., Davis and Skowronek will all be fighting for starting spots along with freshmen Jordan Johnson and Xavier Watts.
