2022 Fond Du Lac (Wis.) safety Braelon Allen‍ released his top six school on Friday afternoon and Notre Dame made the cut.

The four-star prospect will turn his focus to the Irish, Florida State, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State and Wisconsin.

Notre Dame has been a constant in the 6-foot-1, 215-pounders recruitment as Allen has visited South Bend three times in the last year. The Wisconsin native was most recently in South Bend in February for his first in-depth look at the program.

Allen was able to meet with Brian Kelly, Clark Lea and Terry Joseph along with sitting in on a defensive backs meeting during the visit.

Michigan is a school that offered in May and it was an offer Allen had patiently been waiting to receive.

Ohio State is the intriguing school on Allen’s list as the Buckeyes have yet to offer. A source close in Columbus believes the offer could come in time and it’d be a big one. Allen has had dialogue and Zoom calls with the Buckeyes staff, so it could very well be a matter of time.

Wisconsin might be the favorite as of now as it’s the home state program and have been on Allen the longest.

The other intriguing aspect to follow in this recruitment will be if programs pitch him on playing linebacker over safety. Allen believes he’s a safety, but he could very well grow into a linebacker over the next few years.
