2023 Edison (Fla.) receiver Nathaniel Joseph‍ isn't a stranger to getting offers, but the speedy playmaker got a big one on Thursday afternoon.

"I was talking on the phone with Coach Alexander and we've had good talks for the past few days," Joseph told Irish Sports Daily. "He took a chance on me early even though I'm in the class of 2023. He gave me an opportunity and offered me.

"It means a lot and it makes me want to work harder."

The conversations with Alexander have made an impact and Joseph already feels extremely comfortable with the Notre Dame receivers coach.

"He's a good dude," stated Joseph. "He has a great personality and I could talk to him all day. He has said Notre Dame is a great school and program.

"I'd love to be part of it, but I still have a lot of time to figure it out."

Arizona State, Coastal Carolina, Florida Atlantic, Florida International, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Notre Dame, Penn State, Rhode Island, Syracuse and Toledo have already offered, and Joseph appreciates each one.

"I'm young and all these schools taking a chance on me - a lot of schools don't know where I'm going to be at in the next two years," explained Joseph. "It makes me work harder because they took the time to pay attention and offer me.

"They could be offering anyone else in the country."

Rhode Island was Joseph's first offer and the 5-foot-10, 165-pounder wasn't even in high school when it came.

"I was in the eighth grade when I got my first offer," laughed Joseph. "I started playing varsity in the eighth grade. It was a real surprise."

When you turn on Joseph's Hudl, it's easy to see why Notre Dame is interested as you see an electric playmaker.

"I have the ability to go deep," said Joseph. "I can also take five-yard catches for 60 without being caught.

"I play physical. I might not be the tallest guy, but I can play big."

Joseph has proven he can play, but that's not stopping him from working on getting even better.

"I've been working on a lot of route running," he stated. "I want to get stronger, so I've done a lot of lifting."

When it comes to recruiting, Joseph is just getting his process started. Offers are one thing, but he has only been to one school.

"I went on a visit to Miami," Joseph said. "It's down the street, so I had to visit Miami. That's the only school so far."

Joseph isn't in a hurry to make a decision, but he already knows he won't have a problem leaving the state if the fit is right and he's been in contact with several out of state programs.

"I have no problem with leaving Florida for college," said Joseph. "I've been talking to Clemson and Notre Dame. Those are the schools I've talked to the most. I've also been talking to Tennessee."
