Notre Dame-Wake Forest Game Moved From Charlotte
Another day and another schedule change.
The 2020 Duke’s Mayo Classic featuring Notre Dame at Wake Forest will move from Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte to Truist Field.
"With a vibrant Charlotte Wake Forest fan base and as the only ACC school with a campus in the Queen City, we were excited for our student-athletes to have the opportunity to compete at Bank of America Stadium," Director of Athletics John Currie stated. "Under the circumstances, the game will move to Winston-Salem and we will host Notre Dame at Truist Field. We appreciate our friends Danny Morrison and the CSF, as well as the Carolina Panthers, and we look forward to returning to Bank of America Stadium in the future."
Wake Forest doesn’t believe there will be fans based on the current North Carolina Department of Health and Safety guidelines.
"We will be ready to welcome fans back to Truist Field and our other venues as soon as NC DHHS guidance allows,” stated Currie. “We encourage all fans to continue to wear masks and practice social distancing to help reduce the threat of COVID-19.”
Notre Dame cruised at Wake Forest in 2018 as the Irish won 56-27 in Ian Book’s first start at quarterback.
