Notre Dame linebacker Jordan Genmark Heath has left the football team in order to focus on academics as he’ll graduate in December and is expected to pursue a transfer at that time according to multiple sources.

The 6-foot, 220-pound senior is expected to have two years of eligibility remaining due to the new NCAA rule allowing an extra year for college football players due to COVID-19.

In three years at Notre Dame, Genmark Heath played in 39 games and made one start in 2018 against Northwestern.

Genmark Heath arrived at Notre Dame as a safety, but transitioned to Buck following his freshman season. The California native tallied 41 tackles during his Notre Dame career, including 11 on kickoff-return as a freshman in 2017.

The former four-star prospect flipped late in the 2017 recruiting cycle from Cal following the hiring of Mike Elko.
