BREAKING | 2021 WR Deion Colzie Re-Commits To Notre Dame
He’s back!
Six months after re-opening his recruiting process, Deion Colzie is once again a member of Notre Dame’s 2021 recruiting class.
The Georgia wide receiver just announced his decision to give the Irish his verbal pledge once again, choosing Notre Dame after receiving offers from several schools, including Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Auburn, Tennessee, Florida State, Michigan, Ole Miss, Penn State and Oregon among several others.
The Athens Academy star gives Notre Dame 18 current members of its 2021 recruiting class and he joins Lorenzo Styles Jr., to give the Irish a pair of receivers. That number could stretch to three soon, whenever fellow Georgia wideout Jayden Thomas decides to bring his own process to an end.
The 6-foot-4, 195-pounder was a coveted target for the Irish since the start of the cycle, hosting him in South Bend multiple times before landing his initial commitment last October. But by the time March came around, Colzie decided he wanted to consider other options and backed off that commitment.
Offers from around the country came pouring in, but the Irish were never discouraged and were persistence with their pitch about why they felt Notre Dame was a good fit for Colzie and vice versa.
In the end, that pitch paid off.
