After a blowout win in their opener, Grant Bingham‍ and his Johnson Central High School squad came back with another pair of blowout victories after a bye.

The 2020 goal is clear for the 2022 Kentucky offensive lineman and his teammates.

“To get back and win another state championship for sure,” says Bingham.

The 6-foot-6, 300-pounder’s personal goals line up with his team goal.

“To get myself better and get my team ready for whatever we’re going to take on every Friday night,” he says.

He appreciates the game more than ever after seeing some of his peers across the country not get the chance to play this year.

“It definitely makes you more grateful,” he says. “I know I would not know what to do with myself if we didn’t play. It just hurts.”

Bingham landed an offer from Notre Dame back in May and has stayed in contact with Irish offensive line coach Jeff Quinn ever since.

“We just have a good connection,” says Bingham. “I really like him. He’s definitely a good o-line coach, he’s one of the best in the country.

“He’s just a great guy. We watched film together a couple of times and I just love the way he teaches the game.”

Bingham says he “definitely” wants to visit South Bend when he gets the chance.

“I just want to see a ton of different stuff and the facilities and just what it’s like and the kind of feel it has to it,” he says.

In addition to Notre Dame, he also has offers from schools like Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Purdue, Georgia Tech, West Virginia and Cincinnati among others.

“I’m just trying to get everywhere I can so I know I make the right decision for myself,” he says.

He knows what he’s looking for in a school.

“Player development and home-like feel and of course a big team that is trying to win a national championship.”
