No one went into this matchup with the expectation that Florida State’s defense was good, but Notre Dame did what you were supposed to do to a bad defense.

8.3 yards per play. 8.4 yards per carry. 10.4 YPP on 1st down. It was a surprisingly great performance given the time Notre Dame was forced to be away from the football field.

Tommy Rees did an outstanding job calling plays and the level of execution was again at a really high level.
