Lou Holtz once said in a speech that some times you’re going to give it your best shot and the outcome isn’t what you had planned for. He used the example of his Arkansas team losing to Bear Bryant’s Alabama boys in a bowl game and afterwards at the midfield handshake Bear said “Lou, that’s the best damn game my boys have played in five years.” Lou, with his legendary quick wit, said “boy, I’m so glad I was here to see it.
