45 points and 7.4 yards per play is good on any day. There was certainly a lot of good on the day for Notre Dame including nine plays of 20-yards or more and a 94-yard touchdown by Chris Tyree. Five total touchdowns for Ian Book isn’t too shabby either.

When you can do those things and you play a bad opponent, you can get away with two turnovers and five dropped passes. You can also get away with being a bit more vanilla with the playbook, which Notre Dame certainly was.
