2017 athlete Isaiah Robertson committed to Notre Dame in April and has been to South Bend numerous times, but this weekend’s visit was different for the four-star star prospect. It was the last time the Neuqua Valley (Ill.) star would visit before he reports to campus to stay.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder will enroll in January and that’s just a few weeks away.
“The visit was great,” Robertson told Irish Sports Daily. “Knowing this is my home just excites me. Every time I step on campus, it just gets better.”
This trip was also different for Robertson as several of his future teammates were in town and they all got to hang out for an extended period of time. The weekend also allowed all the commits to meet each for the first time in some cases, but really solidify the bond and chemistry of the class.
“It was great to hang out with them,” said Robertson. “The guys are already becoming my close friends. I can’t wait to ball with them.”
“Basically that we better be ready to get here and work,” he stated.
The message from the coaching staff was pretty much the same, as it’s going to be a crucial offseason for the Notre Dame program.
“It was the exact same thing,” Robertson said of the coaches message. “Be ready to get in here and work. Everybody has the same mindset down here and that’s exciting.”
Robertson also got to hang out and build on his relationships with members of the current team this weekend.
“They are cool,” stated Robertson. “It’s a really great group of dudes.”
With his recruitment over, the Illinois native feels the clock ticking down to his arrival and there simply isn’t much more to do other than get to work in a few weeks.
“I’m very excited,” said Robertson. “No words. I am just ready.”

Running back CJ Holmes, offensive lineman Robert Hainsey and tight end Brock Wright will join Robertson in January and the message between the group is simple. “Basically that we better be ready to get here and work,” he stated.
