Recruitment Rundown
Riley was considered a Virginia Tech lean in the spring of 2020 and then a few days later, the four-tar prospect committed to Notre Dame. It was a sign of the times as Riley had not been to campus, but the Notre Dame staff and the Florida native took a chance on each other. Riley remained firm in his commitment, but then started to have second thoughts at the end of the summer. On September 25th, Riley decommitted and committed to USC three days later. Notre Dame stayed on him and Riley took a visit to South Bend while the Irish were in Pittsburgh. The trip opened up his eyes to Notre Dame and led to Riley flipping his pledge on November 16th.

I think Riley has the potential to be a multi-year starter at boundary corner for the Irish because of his physical style and willingness to tackle. He’s the right size and mentality fit there. I love his compete level and think he can match up well with some of the bigger receivers he’ll have to face.
Is he going to be fast enough to develop into an elite corner in college football and a high NFL Draft pick? I’m not sure, but I think he projects to be a really good football player for the Irish and is a great get a position of need.

I love Coach Kelly. I love his energy. He was telling us about the program and what he's done with the program, but also what the program can do for me after and during football.
