The Skinny
One of Notre Dame’s best remaining bets to add to the 2022 offensive line haul, which already includes Ty Chan and Joey Tanona. The connections at Bishop Gorman, where Nicco Fertitta is currently an assistant coach and Ronnie Stanley starred before his days with the Irish and the Ravens, are certainly helping Notre Dame.
Taylor speaks with Irish offensive line coach Jeff Quinn every Wednesday and the two are forming a strong bond.
This looks to be shaping up to be a Notre Dame-Oklahoma battle. The Sooners had the lead when the Irish offered, but then there was confidence on Notre Dame’s side of things. Taylor was clearly impressed with a trip to Norman last month and Oklahoma could have the current momentum. Regardless, Taylor says he will “absolutely” visit South Bend and places like USC and Florida State before making a decision.
Timetable
Taylor doesn’t have a firm timetable for a decision, but says he won’t make a decision before getting to see all of the schools he wants to see. Given his recent Oklahoma visit, it’s clear he won’t wait until April to take those trips, but this doesn’t seem like a situation where a decision is imminent.
