ISD Coaches Corner | Notre Dame-Alabama

January 1, 2021

We were sad to hear that ESPN wouldn’t be doing the popular Coaches Film Room for the College Football Playoff Semifinals.

So, we decided we had to bring back ISD’s Coaches Corner for today’s Rose Bowl matchup between Notre Dame and Alabama.

Just like we did for the ACC Championship Game, we’ve assembled an impressive group of coaches who will be watching today’s game and sharing their observations with you in real-time in a thread on our Premium Members Board.

Just like that game, we’re granting them anonymity, allowing them to offer completely unvarnished opinions without putting them in any uncomfortable positions down the road. The majority of these coaches have some sort of connection with Notre Dame’s current roster, but not all.

Our own ISD expert Jamie Uyeyama will be participating and quarterbacking this in a sense. CoachSting will not be able to join us today as he’ll actually be inside Jerry’s World, but we have an extra special guest.

Hopefully the ISD audience will remember a guy by the name of Sean Mele, who used to do some work for us back in the day. He’s a former coach who claims to have played for Brian Kelly way back in the day.

The exact names of the other coaches aren’t important, but their credentials are. We have a wide range of coaches whose success spans all levels.

We have head coaches and assistant coaches from high-level high schools across the country. We have some current college assistants and guys with experience in the NFL as both players and coaches as well as some of the most sought-after individual position coaches in the country.

Many of the coaches are deeply familiar with Notre Dame’s roster and scheme while others are extremely familiar with the Crimson Tide staff. Still some others will be coming in with relatively fresh eyes.

They’ll be working in real-time off the same TV copy as you, which will make it impossible for them to see and digest everything the way they would from examining All-22 film after the fact.

Still, this group of coaches along with Jamie and Mele will be able to offer insight the average fan may not pick up on while watching.

We invite you to keep an eye on it all throughout the game.

We’re going to keep that thread just to the coaches, but feel free to drop any questions you may have below and I’ll do my best to bring them over to that thread to see if any coach has an answer.
