The Skinny
Wagner comes from an extremely athletic family, which includes two parents who played college sports as well as three siblings, including a brother who played basketball in the Big Ten before playing football in the SEC.

A one-time receiver, Wagner still has some filling out to do before he’s ready to be a Division-I offensive lineman, but nobody views that as a problem and his athleticism is immense.

The Irish offered him a scholarship back in November and it was one that immediately got Wagner’s attention. He goes to the same high school that current Notre Dame assistant Mike Mickens and brand new defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman attended, so there’s a connection, but Jeff Quinn is the one who delivered the offer. Getting to South Bend seems like a priority to Wagner.

He has a wide range of scholarship offers and has a connection to Kentucky, where his older brother played football, so the competition could be steep. And if Ohio State decides to offer, the competition would go to a new level.

Decision Timetable
Wagner says he could have a Top 10 after his current basketball season, but doesn’t have a solid timetable for a final decision. He’s hoping the dead period is lifted so he can take true visits, but if it gets pushed back again, he’ll likely start taking trips on his own.

ISD Expert Jamie Uyeyama
He's thin right now and it will be interesting to see how he progresses physically, but I like his frame and certainly love his athleticism. He has light feet and his movement skill are impressive. I was surprised at how nasty he is in the run game. He gets after it with good bend and good fit. He reaches the edge with ease and does a really great job getting off of the double to the second level.

I'm very high on Wagner as a prospect. I think he has awesome potential and a super high ceiling. Though he is raw with his pass protection technique, his traits are undeniable.
