Chase Claypool Signs with Jordan Brand

Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Chase Claypool capped off a tremendous rookie year by signing Jordan Brand on Tuesday.

The deal had been in the works for a while as Claypool had started wearing Jordan cleats mid-way through the season and joins elite company as only Claypool, Davante Adams, Alshon Jeffrey and Mike Thomas are officially endorsed by the brand.

It seems like a perfect match as Jordan Brand has dialed down its endorsements in recent years and has focused on just a few players at each position.

"You know it when you see it, but you can't really describe it," stated Claypool in a release. "The roster has only a select few athletes, and when you go through it, you see the talent and understand why they are Jordan Brand athletes."

The chance to join the Jordan family is something the former Notre Dame star takes a ton of pride in, but also something he was looking for.

"It was similar to my school decision. I wanted to go to a smaller school and know the people I was going to be around," Claypool stated. "It's the same for this. I want to know the people I'm going to be working with, including the people who signed me. Jordan is a small family, and that makes it unique."

Claypool recorded 62 receptions for 873 yards and nine touchdowns as a rookie for the Steelers in 2020.
