Notre Dame dodged a bullet when its 2017 quarterback pledge – Avery Davis – announced he was firm with his pledge to the Irish despite Baylor adding his high school coach to its staff.

The Irish have done a pretty good job protecting their pledges so far, but they may have to fight to hang onto another now that Miami has extended an offer to wide receiver commit Jordan Pouncey.
