2023 ATH Mikal Harrison-Pilot Excited By Notre Dame Offer

Notre Dame may not have decided where it wants Mikal Harrison-Pilot‍ to play just yet, but the Irish have decided they want the 2023 Texas athlete to play for them.

The Irish extended an offer to the Temple High School standout last month.

“We FaceTimed, had a little conversation and they told me,” the 6-foot, 185-pounder told Irish Sports Daily. “It was exciting.

“Just being Notre Dame, just being a good football program and always having a successful program. For the last decade, I've been watching, so it just really has me excited.”

New Irish safeties coach Chris O’Leary is the one who extended the offer.

“He's a great guy,” Harrison-Pilot said of O’Leary. “I love him. As soon as he started talking, I loved the guy, right away. He was real excited. He wasn't down. He was real excited to offer me.”

Harrison-Pilot also has offers from schools like Arkansas, Baylor, Mississippi State, Pitt, Maryland, Oregon State and USC among others.

Now that he has the offer from the Irish, Pilot-Harrison is looking forward to building relationships with O’Leary and the other Notre Dame staff members.

“They have me as an athlete,” Harrison-Pilot said of the coaching staff in South Bend. “They said DB/receiver.”

After preferring defensive back earlier in the process, that thinking has since changed.

“Last year, it was DB just because, but now, after catching touchdowns, I love playing receiver,” he said.
 
Harrison-Pilot said he wants to visit South Bend when he can.

“I've got to get up there,” he said. “This summer, when they open it or if they open it, that's what I want to do.

“I feel like I should visit the out-of state ones first, so hopefully Notre Dame, or USC, one of those two first. Get all of the out-of-state ones then do the in-state ones.”

Harrison-Pilot knows what he’s looking for in a college.

“How they can better me as a person, and always having a successful program and having a great Business program, the team and player part and if they can help me become what I want to become after college.”
