The highest rated safety recruit that Notre Dame signed in the last decade was Max Redfield. A superior athlete who had all of the athletic tools to be an impact defender, it never came together for him both on and off the field.
He was all potential and little production.
Houston Griffith was a very highly rated defensive back recruit as well.
