2017 receiver Jordan Pouncey had been committed to Notre Dame after Irish Invasion on June 18th and tears were shed when the gave Brian Kelly the news.

However, with the recent staff turnover and an offer from Miami, the 6-foot-2, 185-pounder decommitted from Notre Dame on Thursday.

The three-star prospect recently visited South Bend for the Echoes earlier this month and seemed set on the Irish.

The home-state Hurricanes, a program Pouncey visited twice this fall on unofficial visits, finally came through with an offer on December 19th and was likely the turning point in the recruitment.

With the news of the receivers coach Mike Denbrock taking the offensive coordinator job at Cincinnati and offensive coordinator Mike Sanford leaving for Western Kentucky, Pouncey was left with an uncertain future with a little over a month before National Signing Day.

Pouncey holds 47 offers from the likes of Notre Dame, Miami, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Louisville, Michigan State, Penn State, Texas, Tennessee and West Virginia.
