Notre Dame Baseball Earns Four All-ACC Selections
Notre Dame baseball saw head skipper Link Jarrett earn ACC Coach of the Year recognition on Monday morning and the momentum continued in the afternoon as four players were named All-ACC.
LHP John Michael Bertrand and first baseman Niko Kavadas were named All-ACC First Team, while RHP Tanner Kohlhepp and DH Carter Putz were named All-ACC Second Team.
Bertrand has been Notre Dame’s ace in 2021 as he holds a record of 7-1 in 11 starts. The Georgia native also boasts the second-lowest ERA in the ACC at 2.77 while hitters are batting just .229 against him.
Kavadas finished No. 4 in the ACC in home runs (16), walks (39) and RBI (49) during the regular season. The Granger (Ind.) native also finished third in the ACC in slugging percentage at .727.
Putz led the Irish in batting average at .316 while adding three home runs and 34 RBI. He also led the Irish with 49 hits on the year.
Kohlhepp led the ACC with an ERA of 2.56 and finished the regular season with a record of 7-1 while starting just one game.
