2023 Lee's Summit North (Mo.) offensive lineman Cayden Green‍ picked up an offer from Notre Dame on Tuesday and it was somewhat unexpected.

"Coach (Jeff) Quinn had called my coach earlier and wanted me to call him," Green told ISD. "We talked for about 30 minutes and he told me I had the offer."

The 6-foot-5, 300-pounder holds offers from several top programs, including Arkansas, Georgia, Oklahoma, Oregon and Texas A&M, but the offer from Notre Dame was a significant one.

"It's crazy," stated Green. "I was in shock because I know how big of an offer it is, especially for an offensive lineman. I know how he puts guys in the league and how big of a deal he is as far as a coach."

Quinn was also to build some rapport with Green as their conversation wasn't football-driven.

"I like Coach Quinn," said Green. "We talked for a while and it was about life. We didn't really even talk much about football. It all kind of related back to football, but we just talked.

"I can tell he's a guy with a lot of knowledge and wisdom. It was cool."

The Lee's Summit North star is a road grader in the run game and continuing to work on his all-around game.

"I love run blocking and I finish my blocks," Green explained. "Right now, I'm working on my pass set and perfecting my technique."

Green isn't in a hurry to make a commitment, but he'll head out on the road in June and Notre Dame will be a likely destination.

"I went to a couple spring games and spring practices, but the visits will be on next month," said Green.

"I'll be at Mizzou on June 2nd, Oklahoma on June 19th and we'll probably get up to Notre Dame in probably late June. We talked about that today, but we didn't come up with a date yet."
