2023 CB Jack Tchienchou Excited For Notre Dame's Irish Invasion
Jack Tchienchou and Notre Dame are getting to know each other and they’ll get to know each other a little better this weekend when the 2023 Georgia cornerback makes the trip to South Bend for Irish Invasion.
Notre Dame defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman sent the Atlanta native the invitation a couple weeks ago and Tchienchou spoke with Irish cornerbacks coach Mike Mickens about it afterward.
“And I've been talking with Chad Bowden, the director of recruiting over there for awhile,” Tchienchou says.
“They've been telling me that the campus is nice and that I'm going to like it. They said that they're excited to get me down there, see me camp and go through drills and stuff.”
The 5-foot-10, 170-pounder from St. Pius X holds an early offer from Wisconsin and is looking to find out more about Notre Dame during the trip.
“I've seen pictures of the campus, it's a beautiful campus, I want to get to see it for myself,” he says. “Their football culture is also nice.
“I watched some of their live practices on Instagram Lives during the spring. So I got to see the type of energy they brought every day to a practice and I loved it. I want to go see it for myself.”
Tchienchou believes he’ll be able to impress the Notre Dame coaches with his man-to-man coverage skills and his ability to move during the camp.
He’s got a few other visits on the docket for this month as well.
“I'm going to Duke on the 12th and then I'm hopefully going to get up to Wisconsin on the 15th and then Georgia Tech on the 24th,” he says.
It’s still early, but Tchienchou has an idea of what he’s hoping to find in a college.
“Just the home feeling. I want to feel at home. And then also, I just want to have the energy because I like to bring energy myself, so I want people that'll be able to match that.”
