Report: Chip Long Headed to South Bend as Offensive Coordinator

According to a report from Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports, Notre Dame is set to hire Chip Long as the next offensive coordinator.
Long will come to South Bend from Memphis, where the Tigers ranked 16th in offense and averaged 39 points a game in 2016.
The North Alabama graduate is considered one of the nation’s top recruiters, as Rivals and 247 Sports ranked him as a Top 25 recruiter in 2015.
Long coached at Arizona State from 2012-2015 under Mike Norvell and has also coached at Illinois, Arkansas and Louisville.
Three times in his career, Long was part of an offense that finished Top 10 in the nation in scoring.
Long also has a history of coaching tight ends.
