2023 DB Amare Snowden Loves Notre Dame Visit & Staff

2023 Roseville (Mich.) defensive back Amare Snowden‍ made the trip to South Bend for Irish Invasion and worked mainly at cornerbacks on Sunday afternoon. 

“In drills, I went with the cornerbacks,” Snowden told ISD. “I loved Coach Mike Mickens and I felt like one of his own. During one-on-ones I worked at both corner and safety.” 

The competition also impressed the 6-foot-4, 190-pounder as Snowden had the chance to compete with prospects from outside the Midwest.

“The was great,” stated Snowden. “I did some drills I nearly never do. It was good. The competition was good. I went against guys from all over the country.” 

Snowden also got to tour the campus for the first time and the sights and sounds of Notre Dame left him speechless. 

“Not even going to tell a story, the campus and facilities were dope,” said Snowden. “It’s just the little things that got my eye like the prayer booth. You can go pray at any time and light a candle. That was really sweet.” 

Throughout the day, Snowden also got the chance to catch up with members of the staff. Marcus Freeman, Chad Bowden and Mickens all made positive impressions and Snowden could very well hear from them on Monday. 

“I talked to the defensive coordinator, which is Marcus Freeman,” explained Snowden. “I also talked to Mike Mickens, the cornerbacks coach and Chad Bowden. The message was I looked good and we’re going to talk on Monday. Hopefully, it's some good news.” 

Snowden would love to return to Notre Dame for another visit, but first, the Michigan native will head to a couple other Midwest powerhouses this month. 

“I'm going to one more camp, which is Ohio State,” said Snowden. “I’m going to close the year and go to Michigan and visit with Michigan safety coach Ron Bellamy.”
