2024 Harper Woods (Mich.) defensive back Jacob Oden camped at Notre Dame on Sunday and then received an offer from the Irish on Monday morning.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder was fired up about Notre Dame before the offer as he got to tour the campus before Irish Invasion.

"It was big," stated Oden. "It was like a city. Before the camp started, we got to walk around the campus."

The chance to see Notre Dame Stadium up close and personal was a highlight for Oden.

Now, Oden had seen Michigan Stadium numerous times, but he was still impressed with what he saw coming down the tunnel at Notre Dame.

"We got to see the stadium and it's huge," said Oden. "It's crazy even though I'm used to Michigan. I've been up there all the time, but Notre Dame's stadium was different."

At camp, Oden was able to get coached by safeties coach Chris O'Leary, which was a very positive experience.

He's cool and he has a lot of energy," Oden stated. "He's really excited about everything.

"We really focused on our technique and all the fundamentals. And how to get everything right to get better."

Obviously, Oden played well enough to earn an offer from the staff, but he felt he competed well against older competition.

"1-on-1s were short," Oden said. "I only got four reps and won two. After we did that, we did a catching competition like at the combine. It was fun."

Now that he does have the offer, Oden wants to return for a game in the fall.

"I liked the vibe here," said Oden. "It seems chill. I really liked it. I'm for sure coming back for a game. I have to see it."

Offers: Cincinnati, Kentucky, Maryland, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Pitt, Purdue, Syracuse, Tennessee and West Virginia
