Hawkins Polley‍ kicked off his camp circuit with an appearance at Notre Dame’s Irish Invasion on Sunday and the 2023 Texas tight end enjoyed the experience.

“It was good,” Polley told Irish Sports Daily afterward. “It was a lot of fun.”

“I think I showed my hands pretty well and my ability to track the ball and to go and get the ball even if it's not thrown right on target and my ability to get myself open.”

The 6-foot-4, 235-pounder from Houston also enjoyed the opportunity to be coached by Irish tight ends coach John McNulty.

“I liked it a lot,” Polley said. “He was very technical and talked to us a lot and made sure we understood everything he was saying.

“He told me to use my body more in routes to get myself open or make adjust an adjustment to the ball.”

The Stratford High School standout also had the chance to speak with McNulty afterward.

“He said I had good hands and a good catch radius, I just need to work on my body more in my routes,” Polley recounted.

“I gave him a card with my name and number and all that stuff on it. He said, he's not really sure what the coaching staff from the tight end in the Class of 23. So I'm just waiting to hear back from them.”

Polley, who has early offers from Baylor, SMU and Vanderbilt, also had the chance to peek around campus on Sunday.

“I took a tour of campus before the camp,” he said. “The campus was really nice. I liked it a lot. I like the smaller campus personally. It was really pretty. I liked it.”

Next up for Polley are camps at Ole Miss on Wednesday and Houston on Thursday.
