2023 OL Gunnar Gottula Enjoys Irish Invasion, Notre Dame
Gunnar Gottula has hit the camp circuit in full force this month and the 2023 Nebraska offensive lineman was at Notre Dame to participate in Irish Invasion this past weekend.
“I had a lot of fun,” the 6-foot-6, 270-pounder told Irish Sports Daily afterward. “I thought it went really good. It was cool to get to Notre Dame and see everything. It was a good camp. I had fun.”
The Lincoln Southeast High School standout arrived in South Bend on Saturday to get a peek around before the camp.
“We drove around the campus a little bit and I did the tour beforehand and got to see the stadium and stuff, so it was cool,” he said.
“It was cool to see the Play Like A Champion Today thing in the locker room. I liked that a lot and Touchdown Jesus.”
During the camp, Gottula had the opportunity to be coached by Irish offensive line coach Jeff Quinn.
“I got to work a lot with Coach Quinn, so that was good,” he said. “I liked his coaching style. It was straight-forward and he really helped us out a lot and coached us up.
“I talked with him for a little bit after camp. He kind of asked me how other I felt it went and what I learned and improved on.”
Gottula isn’t 100 percent sure what’s next for him and the Irish, but he expects to keep in contact.
Prior to arriving at Notre Dame, Gottula picked up an offer from Nebraska to go with offers he already had from Kansas State and Iowa State.
“I went to their camp and worked out,” he said of the Cornhuskers.
“The coach offered me after the camp, so it was real cool.”
