It’s still early and colleges can’t even directly contact him yet, but Sterling Dixon‍ has a trio of scholarship offers and even more who are interested.

The 2024 Alabama defensive end currently sports offers from Maryland, Central Florida and Florida A&M.

“It's a blessing,” the Mobile Christian School standout says. “I just want to thank God and I'm thankful for the opportunity.”

He says Auburn, Florida and Michigan are “showing a lot of love,” while Notre Dame invited him to campus already.

“They can't communicate me because I'm in the Class of 2024,” he says of the Irish. “But they were on the phone with my coach and said they wanted me to come on for an unofficial, come visit for a camp.”

He wasn’t able to get up to South Bend this summer, but says he will in the future and he has interest in the Irish.

“Just the academics,” he says of what interests him most about Notre Dame. “They're more than a school and playing sports.

“I just want to see their facilities and to learn more about it.”

He’s already made unofficial visits to Michigan and Central Florida. UCF has made a very strong initial impression.

“For me, I like UCF the most,” says Dixon. “They showed me a lot of love when I went over there and I loved their facilities and everything they've got going on. I think they're going to be a great school in the future.”

He’s planning to get to Auburn soon and hopes to check out South Carolina as well as Notre Dame.

College scouts are impressed with what they’ve seen from the young 6-foot-3, 200-pound edge rusher so far.

“Everybody tells me my get-off,” he says of what scouts like most about him. “They talk about how explosive I am and they talk about how versatile I am. I can go from playing defensive end to outside linebacker to playing safety. I can play almost everything.

“In college, I'm probably going to be an edge rusher where a can play outside linebacker.”

He’s going to be looking at a few factors when it comes time to choose a school.

“I'm going to look at how they treat me. I want to go somewhere I'm loved and where I think I can get on the field early. It's all about getting to the next level with me. My education, I'm going to go for Engineering, so I'm going to look at that process.”
