Return Trip to Notre Dame Important for 2023 Five-Star QB Dante Moore

2023 Martin Luther King (Mich.) quarterback Dante Moore‍ made a trip to South Bend in June and it was a win for Tommy Rees. It was a chance to finally connect face-to-face and feel each other out in a non-virtual setting.

It’s safe to say Moore left impressed in June as he made a return trip to Notre Dame on Tuesday and spent more time in a car than he did on campus.

Moore wasn’t able to get to campus until late in the evening and despite the short time on campus, it shows the interest the five-star quarterback has in the Irish program.

“I had to get back as quick as I could,” Moore told ISD when asked why it was important to make his second trip this summer. “I love it there, to be honest. I was just missing out on Carnell Tate‍ being up there. He’s my guy.”

Tate might not have been able to make his fourth trip to Notre Dame this summer, but Rees was the guy Moore wanted to see again as their relationship continues to grow.

“Coach Rees told me he was glad for me to be back on campus and I was too,” stated Moore. “It’s great always having a conversation and just chopping it up with Coach. He’s just a great overall person.”

With it being Moore’s second trip in a month, it’s only natural for him to start to feel not only comfortable with Notre Dame, but the staff and that goes back to Rees’ efforts.

“I feel I’m very comfortable with the staff,” Moore said. “I really appreciate them in a heavy way.”

The next step for Moore will be to focus on his junior season, but also to lock in game day visits, which Notre Dame seems like a likely destination.

“I don’t have any visits planned yet for the fall,” Moore stated.

Moore has made his way around the country, but there might be a few more places he wants to see before starting to narrow things down. The Michigan native feels no rush to make a top group or a commitment at this stage of the process.

“I”m playing it slow,” said Moore. “I’m enjoying every bit of it. I’m blessed.”
