Notre Dame WR Lawrence Keys III Will Sit 2021 Season
Notre Dame receiver Lawrence Keys III will sit the rest of the 2021 season according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
The senior receiver played five snaps and wasn’t targeted in Notre Dame’s 41-38 win over Florida State on Sunday night.
Keys will graduate in December and will make a decision on his future once he has his degree. The Louisiana native is expected to have two years of eligibility remaining.
The 5-foot-10, 176-pounder made 18 receptions for 185 yards over the last two seasons, but expectations rose for Keys following the Blue-Gold Game in May as he recorded five catches for 115 yards.
Notre Dame receiver group has taken a hit over the last nine months as Jay Brunelle, Jordan Johnson, Micah Jones and Kendall Abdur-Rahman have also left the program following the Rose Bowl in December.
As a recruit, Keys chose the Irish over Houston, SMU and Texas.
