The downside of playing a true freshman at quarterback was evident against Virginia Tech.

Only one completion in the second half and two interceptions, one a pick-six. Oof. Tyler Bucher missed too many layups and that can’t happen.

The upside with him was undeniable, though. The running game found its footing running inside zone, counter, and with some RPOs mixed in. The offensive line was playing downhill and moving people off the ball with double teams.
