2024 Carlsbad (Calif.) quarterback Julian Sayin‍ made his second visit to Notre Dame this year over the weekend.

In June, the 6-foot-1, 185-pounder picked up an offer from the Irish and circled the USC game early this fall for a return trip.

"It was pretty crazy," Sayin told ISD. "The atmosphere was definitely awesome and the fans were so supportive of the team."

The light show won't make a difference in his recruitment, but as a fan, Sayin was impressed with the energy Notre Dame was able to create.

"It was really cool to see the fourth quarter when they turned out the lights, the green lights were turned on and everyone had their phone lights on," said Sayin. "It was all awesome to see as a recruit and a fan of college football."

Offensive coordinator Tommy Rees doesn't offer quarterbacks early, but Sayin was one of the few he has offered early.

The two were able to reconnect a couple of times on Saturday and then Sayin got a close look at Rees' offense.

"I spoke to Coach Rees before and a little bit after the game," explained Sayin. "He was telling me how Notre Dame was a special place and the atmosphere was going to be crazy.

"I really like Coach Rees because he's easy to talk to and he does a great job with his playcalling."

Sayin was not only impressed with the concepts in Rees' offense, but the style of offense also stood out as it was something he was already familiar with.

"They were putting it on USC," Sayin said. "They were able to do a lot of good things offensively. Our offense at Carlsbad is pretty similar to Notre Dame. We go under center, shotgun and mix it up, so I liked seeing that.

"It's appealing because I do it now and I know it transitions to the next level."

Sayin plans to slow things down a little bit this fall and plans to be committed to a program at this time next year.

"I don't think I have any more game visits this fall," said Sayin. "I would say either early junior year is when I was thinking about making a commitment."
