2022 Notre Dame DE Commit Aiden Gobaira Excited for Future
2022 Chantilly (Va.) defensive end Aiden Gobaira took his official visit in the summer, but the Notre Dame commit wanted to return to see what a big game atmosphere looked like in South Bend.
The 6-foot-6, 235-pounder returned to campus this weekend with his mother and friend, Ben Nyberg, but he could only catch the second half of Notre Dame's victory over USC.
"Every time I step on campus, I always get excited knowing I'm blessed to be going here," Gobaira told ISD. "Sadly, I didn't get to spend too much time on campus or with my teammates because our car broke down on the Ohio Turnpike near Toledo."
The four-star prospect was set on making it to Notre Dame, so they didn't give up and it was worth it as Gobaira did get a taste of the rivalry and the stadium energy.
"After towing our car and taking multiple Ubers to airports and hotels, we finally made it to the stadium right before halftime," explained Gobaira. "At the game, I was amazed by the student section and the intensity of the crowd."
Gobaira also got to see Mike Elston's defensive line in action for the first time and watching Isaiah Foskey play has the Virginia native excited for the future.
"I thought Coach Elston really utilized the vyper spot with Isaiah Foskey," said Gobaira. "It was great seeing the position and I hope to play being spotlighted like that."
