In the mid 1990’s I was working as a GA in Tuscaloosa, Alabama under a man named Homer Smith. For the sake of brevity, this man was one of the foremost authorities on offensive football. Running everything from the wishbone to the most complex pro-style offense imaginable. In a meeting one day he was introducing the grading system to use for the Quarterbacks and Offensive Line. One of the position coaches asked what details we should focus on the most in grading the film.
