Karson Gordon‍ was interested enough to make the trip up to South Bend earlier this month and after experiencing Notre Dame, the 2024 Texas quarterback remains so.

“It was great,” the 6-foot-1, 170-pounder told Irish Sports Daily afterward. “The atmosphere was crazy. I loved it.

“We came in and did height and weight and checked in. We ate some food and then we talked to coaches. That was a great, putting a face to a name name and all that. Then we went through and watched the warmup and seen all the players on the field. It was really cool. I loved it. Then we watched the game. It was loud. It was cold. I'm from Texas, so it was a little bit different. It was loud, it was cold, it was fun. And I enjoyed it.”

While in town for the Irish’s win over Navy, the Ridge Point High School standout had the chance to speak with Notre Dame’s Coordinator of On-Campus Recruiting Mackenzie Zanow as well as offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Tommy Rees.

“He told me he liked what he saw,” Gordon said of Rees. “He told me they would be watching. He said he wanted me up for a camp this summer.”

That’s something Gordon says he will do “for sure.”

“I have to come back to see this,” he said.

Gordon, who has an early offer from Washington State, didn’t get to see much outside of the athletic portion on his first trip.

“I've got to see the campus as well. I can't wait.”

Gordon made a couple other visits earlier this season and is looking at a couple more.

“I've been to Texas A&M for a game and Georgia for a game,” he said. “I'm planning to go to the University of Houston and University of Lafayette.”
