Cole Welliver‍ has multiple Power-Five offers already and the 2024 Texas quarterback made a trip to South Bend for Notre Dame’s home finale against Georgia Tech this past weekend.

“It was awesome,” Welliver told Irish Sports Daily afterward.

“It was a great experience. The environment, I love everything about it, their heritage.”

The Marcus High School standout had a chance to check out the facilities.

“I saw the IAC and the locker room,” he said. “I went on the field and that was pretty cool.”

Welliver also enjoyed the Irish’s 55-0 victory over the Yellow Jackets.

“It was a blowout, but yeah, I thought the game was awesome,” he said.

The 6-foot-6, 195-pounder said he “loved” what he saw from the Irish’s offensive attack.

“They pass the ball,” he said. “I loved the offense.”

Welliver has early offers from Washington State, Arizona State, Colorado and Florida Atlantic.

He didn’t get to speak with any Notre Dame coaches while in town, but the staff had reached out to his high school coach, which is what led him to make the trip.

“I knew they were one of the top schools in the country and I knew that academically, they're up there,” he said.

Welliver isn’t sure what’s next for him and the Irish, but hopes to keep in touch and begin building a relationship.
