Dylan Karz‍ made the trip from the West Coast to the Midwest last weekend to see Notre Dame and the 2024 California wide receiver is glad he did.

“It was good,” the 6-foot-3, 180-pounder told Irish Sports Daily afterward. “It was a really, really cool experience.

“We followed this agenda. We got to see the Players' Walk and the band. We got to see the whole game day experience, talk to some coaches. It was a really cool experience.”

Campus made a big impression on the Brentwood School standout.

“It's really special,” he said. “You walk on campus and there's a certain smell to it. The minute you walk on, it's a pretty special feeling.

“It's really beautiful, very scenic and definitely a lot of land, which is weird coming from L.A.”

Karz, who has early offers from Arizona State and Charlotte, had the chance to speak with Irish wide receivers coach Del Alexander.

“I had a good conversation with him,” said Karz. “He's a really, really good coach and I look forward to keeping in touch with them.

“He grew up in L.A,, so we talked about that a little bit. Talked a little bit about the program, all great things. I was definitely really impressed. It was a great conversation.”

Karz also spoke with Notre Dame Director of Recruiting Aaryn Kearney and several student interns.

He was impressed with the Irish’s offense during their 55-0 drubbing of Georgia Tech.

“Electric is my word for it,” he said. “That was definitely a really good game to go to. Notre Dame definitely has a winning tradition, so it was pretty cool to see that displayed.”

He doesn’t have any other visits planned, but would like to return to South Bend down the road.

“I definitely want to come back if possible. I'm just going to try to keep in touch with the coaches and keep performing on my level and hopefully I'll make it back here.”
