Notre Dame S Litchfield Ajavon Enters the Transfer Portal
It had been quiet in the Transfer Portal for Notre Dame football since Brendon Clark entered his name on October 19th.
On Wednesday, Litchfield Ajavon entered his name in the Transfer Portal as a graduate transfer and announced the news via Social Media.
“After careful consideration, I’ve decided to enter my name into the Transfer Portal,” Ajavon said in a statement. I’m grateful to the University of Notre Dame, the coaching staff, support staff, academic staff and all of the people who work so hard to make this school and this football program great.
“To my teammates, I’ll always cherish the memories we shared, from the pain of all our summer workouts to the joys of seeing our hard work pay off. The brotherhood we've created will stay with me forever.
“I’m excited to finish this season with my brothers and look forward to finishing my undergraduate education at the conclusion of this academic year. I’ll always fondly remember my time at Notre Dame and I’m excited for the journey ahead.”
As a freshman, the 6-foot, 193-pounder played in two games and then saw action in four games as a sophomore in 2020.
In 2021, Ajavon played in five games and made his first tackle of the season against Navy.
Ajavon committed to Notre Dame in April of 2018 as the Irish beat out Clemson, Georgia, Michigan, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin.
“I saw how Notre Dame set itself apart from other top schools,” said Ajavon before his commitment. “The game only goes so far, and Notre Dame will set you up for life after football. It was a great insight into things I wasn’t even thinking about.”
Ajavon moved to the United States from Ghana at the age of six and his dynamic personality was on display throughout his recruiting process, but also at Notre Dame during his Tiny Mic Nation segments this fall.
