Notre Dame Lands 2022 Preferred Walk-On LB Kobi Onyiuke

Notre Dame added another piece to its 2022 class on Saturday as Benedictine College Preparatory (Va.) linebacker Kobi Onyiuke‍ committed to the Fighting Irish as a preferred walk-on. 

The 6-foot-4, 225-pounder camped at Notre Dame over the summer and holds an impressive 4.7 GPA. 

"All glory to God," Onyiuke said in a statement. "It is with a humble heart that I announced my commitment to the University of Notre Dame to continue my academic and athletic future. Thank you to my family for their unwavering support and to my teammates and coaches. Thank you especially to Coach Peloquin and the Notre Dame family for giving me this opportunity." 

Onyiuke chose Notre Dame over offers from Carnegie Mellon and Washington and Lee.
