2023 CB Jayvon Thomas Remains Interested In Notre Dame
Jayvon Thomas hasn’t been able to get up to South Bend for an unofficial visit yet, but the 2023 Texas cornerback remains seriously interested in Notre Dame.
“For sure,” said the Dallas native, who was offered by the Irish back in March.
“The connections. There are life-changing connections there.”
Thomas would know too. He’s the son of former Irish linebacker Joey Thomas.
He was paying attention to the coaching shuffling at Notre Dame following Brian Kelly’s departure.
“With Marcus Freeman going in as the head coach, I think he brings a defensive mindset because he's a defense coordinator,” said Thomas.
“I feel like he's a player's coach, so I think they should be good.”
The 5-foot-11, 175-pounder remains hopeful he’ll get to South Bend for a visit relatively soon.
“The campus, the coaches and just the community,” he said of what he’d like to see if he is able to visit.
“I'm going to start taking trips around January, February.”
The South Oak Cliff standout also has offers from schools like Texas, Oklahoma, Baylor, Arkansas, Oregon and USC among others, but doesn’t have any other trips locked in yet.
“Right now, I don't really have ideal schools to visit,” he said.
He does have an idea what he’s looking for in a school.
“How it can uplift me into the next level and in life.”
