2024 ATH Sacovie White Makes Major Impact At Combine
SAN ANTONIO – Sacovie White arrived at the National Underclassmen Combine with an offer from Maryland, but if the 2024 Georgia athlete’s performance here on Friday was indication, that list is going to grow and probably quickly.
The 5-foot-10, 162-pounder wanted to see where he stacked up against top competition and he – and anybody watching – found out he stacked up pretty well.
While he said he prefers the challenge of playing defensive back, White worked out at receiver and dazzled with his route-running and catching ability.
In addition to the offer he has from the Terps, he’s received interest from several other schools, including Notre Dame, Georgia, Virginia Tech, Kentucky, East Carolina, Central Florida and Coastal Carolina among others.
He was in South Bend in October for the Irish’s win over North Carolina.
“It was very fun, exciting,” White said of that trip. “It was different. It was a different school. They don't separate you from other kids. They don't make you feel like you're above somebody or under anybody.”
White has maintained some contact with the Irish since, but is hoping to increase it in the coming months. He’d also welcome the opportunity to return to South Bend to see more of the school and the facilities.
He expects to hit the road again to take more visits this summer.
White’s certainly grateful for the offer from Maryland, but isn’t going to let up now.
“It's exciting, but I'm never satisfied, so I've got to keep working to get better.”
