Even before getting a chance to see Notre Dame in person, Luis Cordova‍ was referring to it as his dream school.

After visiting South Bend for the Purdue game this fall, the 2024 Arizona offensive lineman’s feelings haven’t changed.

“It was really beautiful,” Cordova told Irish Sports Daily from the National Underclassmen Combine in San Antonio last week. “I absolutely loved it.

“Oh man, the atmosphere, the fans, the coaches, the players; it was amazing. It was breathtaking. Especially, when they make a, a touchdown, they do pushups on each other. You don't see that in Arizona. It awed me, seriously.

“It's always been my dream to play in Notre Dame since I was a little kid. When I went there, I actually got to witness what it was actually. I saw it and I absolutely fell in love with it. I don't want to say it feels like home, but it does feel like home at the same time.”

The Salpointe Catholic High School standout had a chance to check out the Irish in person again, when they traveled to Arizona for the Fiesta Bowl.

“I was able to go watch the game and go to a practice,” Cordova said. “Our school runs like almost the same practice how they do and it's pretty cool how they do it. Being so close to the o-line and Coach Jeff Quinn was amazing.”

But with Quinn and Del Alexander, who recruited Arizona, both gone, Cordova will need to reestablish connections with Notre Dame.

“Those were kind of my contacts, but I know Coach (Eric) Rogers, my head coach, he's going keep me in good contact with Notre Dame,” he said.

Cordova, who has an early offer from Arizona, delivered a solid showing at the combine, showing off all the work that he’s been putting in.

“I've been in the lab, working out, grinding to get better, as best as I can be,” he said.

In addition to the offer from the Wildcats, Cordova is also receiving interest from Arizona State, but he doesn’t have any visit plans locked in for the coming months yet.

“My coach hasn't let me know on anything. I'm just going to keep grinding and stay in contact with coaches as best as I can.”
