Andrew Dennis‍ made his first trip to Notre Dame for the Irish’s home finale against Georgia Tech in November and the 2024 Michigan offensive lineman left impressed.

“It was fun,” the Mount Pleasant High School standout told Irish Sports Daily from the National Underclassmen Combine in San Antonio earlier this month.

“I liked a lot. It was cool to see that o-line.”

The 6-foot-4, 225-pounder had been talking with former Irish offensive line coach Jeff Quinn.

“But with the new coaching change, I’ll have to contact the new coach,” he said.

Dennis’ interest in Notre Dame goes beyond football and coaches, though.

“Academics are a big thing for me, so just hearing about how good of a school it was and about the school size, class sizes, I really enjoyed,” he said.

“I really like the campus too.”

Dennis, who has an early offer from Central Michigan, expects to get back to South Bend in the coming months.

“That's the goal,” he said. “I'll definitely be down in the spring for camp. Maybe I get there for Junior Day, but we'll see.”

He’s also hearing from schools like Michigan, Michigan State, Iowa, Iowa State, Toledo, Miami-Ohio and a host of MAC schools.

Dennis stressed the importance of off-the-field factors in his decision.

“Academics because I know there's life after football, so that's my biggest thing.”
