Buford High School recruiting coordinator Fyrone Davis has a policy for his players; if they get offered by Notre Dame, it’s an offer they need to look at seriously.

“Anytime our kids get those offers from Notre Dame, it means a lot to our program and it means a lot to our kids,” Davis told Irish Sports Daily this week. “When a kid gets a Notre Dame offer, it carries a lot of weight in our school building.”

One of their kids – 2024 Georgia athlete Khalil Bolden‍ – received that Irish offer last month.

“He was very excited,” Davis said of Bolden’s reaction.

Bolden has an offer that sheet also includes schools like Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Texas and Duke among several others.

“I think his character makes him a top prospect off the rip,” Davis said. “His character is really, really good. He's very humble to be as good as he is. You talk about size and speed, it's one helluva of a combination, when you look at a 6-2, 190 kid, who runs 10.7 in the 100 meters.”

Davis sees that character in a variety of ways.

“Throughout his leadership, throughout the classroom, throughout the school building,” he said. “His 'Yessir, No sir' mentality. He's an easygoing kid. He's about helping people get better at what they do.”

Notre Dame and the other schools that have offered have been impressed with his skillset.

“He's one of the top kids in the country if not the #1 kid in the 2024 class,” Davis said. “He's a no-brainer. You don't see many kids this big, this fast, who move around. His skillset is so unreal. His physicality is so unreal. He has an elite skillset and is as physical as they come.”

Bolden isn’t at the point yet to start narrowing his list or naming leaders,

“He's just a sophomore, so he has time,” his coach said. “He's in track right now. His focus right now is worrying about his team. That's what makes him better too. He's more of a team guy than an I guy. That letter 'I' is not in his vocabulary. He's all team.

“He's got two years to figure this out. He hasn't talked anything about football because he's on track right now.”

But it sounds like South Bend will be on the itinerary once one is created.

“There's no doubt. He'll definitely get on that campus.”
