Linebacker Nolan Ziegler grew up a Notre Dame fan and finally arrived on campus to start his college career in January.
Early reports from winter workouts have singled out Ziegler's speed, which is something that didn't necessarily surprise the Michigan native.
Ziegler discussed his week at the All-American Bowl and the ramped-up competition. The 6-foot-3, 205-pounder noted it might have been easier for him as he wasn't playing offense, but Ziegler did notice the speed of the game was much faster than his high school competition.
As the unofficial leader of the recruiting class, Ziegler looked back at a crazy December as Brian Kelly left and Marcus Freeman moved into the role as head coach.
Notre Dame's culture has also been something that stuck out over his first few weeks on campus, which includes workouts with Matt Balis.
