2024 ATH Miles Lockhart Would Love To Get Back To Notre Dame
Miles Lockhart was in South Bend for Notre Dame’s game against North Carolina during the fall and the 2024 Arizona athlete was impressed.
“I loved it,” the Basha High School standout told Irish Sports Daily. “They put us right next to like the cheerleaders and the team and the band. It was just a whole different experience. I've never been to a school like that before with all the traditions and everything they have there.”
Lockhart currently has offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Iowa State among others, but the interest from the Irish has still made a major impact.
“It's amazing,” the 5-foot-10, 185-pounder said. “That would be a huge offer and it's just a huge school, knowing that they have an interest in me is a big deal to me.
“Like I always say, it's everything outside of football. It's the school. I can always have that degree. The people who I'll meet there, I will build relationships with people that who knows what they'll be doing. And I also know that they could get me ready for The League if I wanted to pursue that as well.”
Lockhart had been talking with former Irish assistant Del Alexander, so he’ll need to reconnect with Notre Dame, but said he “definitely” wants to return to South Bend.
“My family loved it there,” he said. “I want to bring everybody up.”
Lockhart is also friends with incoming Irish freshman cornerback Ben Morrison.
“So. we might go see some games,” he said.
Lockhart made an unofficial visit to Oregon at the end of month and also wants to make stops at Louisville and other schools.
“I want to get to the East Coast and see all those big schools, like Georgia and stuff like that,” he said
He could play either side of the ball, but sees cornerback as his primary position. College coaches like his flexibility along with his speed and strength, which allows him to match up with a variety of opponents.
And he knows what he’s looking for in a school.
“A college that will get me ready for life outside of everything and one that will send me up for a great career in the future.”
