2024 WR Jeremiah McClellan Ready For Second Look At Notre Dame
Jeremiah McClellan likes what he’s heard from Notre Dame wide receivers coach Chansi Stuckey so far, which is why the 2024 St. Louis wide receiver will be in South Bend for a visit on Thursday.
But Stuckey wants to show the Christian Brothers College star that he can back up his words.
“We've been talking for a little while, a long time, actually,” McClellan says of himself and Stuckey.
“I love Coach Stuckey. He's a great coach. He brings great energy, great juice. We talk all of the time. We talk about family stuff, anything. He's a really good coach.”
On Tuesday, McClellan picked up an offer from Oregon to add to a list that already included schools like Iowa, Nebraska, Michigan State, Arkansas, Arizona State, Boston College and West Virginia among others.
Stuckey is the biggest reason McClellan is making the visit this week.
“Just the relationship with Coach Stuckey, really and the Notre Dame environment,” McClellan says. “I've been up there once before, but I didn't really get to see like that and Notre Dame has a new coaching staff, so I want to come up there and experience it again.
“He's telling me Notre Dame is a great school, they get the receivers really good. He wants me to see how they are right now and then see how they're going to be in the future. He wants me to see how he puts in the work and develops receivers to be really good.”
McClellan made trips to Missouri, Michigan and Michigan State recently and could be at Iowa and Iowa State soon, but doesn’t have anything set yet.
“I'm just enjoying the recruiting process so far,” he says.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder isn’t exactly sure what the most important factors in his decision will be just yet, but he has an idea.
“I haven't figured that out. Probably the environment and the coaching staff and how the players like it up there. I know the coaching staff can leave, but if the players really like and they enjoy it, then that means it's a good fit for me.”
