FUND Foundation Launched to Support Notre Dame Student-Athletes
The NIL era arrived in July and on Monday the FUND Foundation (Friends of the University of Notre Dame) was launched to help support nonprofits with the help of Notre Dame student-athletes.
Former Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn and alum Tom Mendoza will be involved as part of the FUND’s board along with former players Pat Eilers and Jason Sapp, per The Athletic.
Notre Dame and its various coaching staffs can’t be part of the Fund Foundation or promote it and that’s made crystal clear on the FUND’s website.
“FUND operates independently from the University of Notre Dame; however, its mission is for the benefit of student-athletes looking to become ambassadors for charities of their own choice.”
How does it work for student-athletes?
The FUND Foundation's board approves student-athletes and then a charity of choice is chosen.
“Once a student-athlete is selected and approved by FUND, they will choose a charity to support,” stated the FUND’s website. “Student-athletes are provided various opportunities to make a difference such as attending fundraising events, social media campaigns, volunteering at charity sites, and more.”
Contributions are also tax-deductible
